  Club Night The Game

So, it’s April already huh? Before you know it festival season will be upon us and we will all be trying to spend as much time in the sun, maybe playing football or a bit of cricket in the park, and then decamping to muddy fields every other weekend. Ball games (and sun) may be the only things missing from this event at the Scala as the baffling old place gets turned into a maze of art, music and robots. This looks great, James Lavelle and Mystery Jets are DJing, Officer Kicks and the Brute Chorus play live and Gideon Reeling does his fantastical thing with his interactive performance theatre troupe the Heritage Arts Company. Add to that the Rebel Dining Society and Giles Walker with his aforementioned Kinetic Robots and this has all the makings of something a bit special. So shake off the chocolate-induced coma from last weekend’s bank holiday excess and get involved; it’s the taking part that counts. / Ian Marshall
